What we remember the most is
Remembering,…. Umm….. Life is a constant cycle of calling to mind every
single good, bad, odd, funny, disgusting, appealing, and shocking changes.
“Learning is a relatively permanent change in capacity for performance,
acquired through experience.” (Good and Brophy, 1995).
Remembering is a way to do not forget what we have learnt. For that reason
we cannot only point one fact, moment, act, performance, commitment, execution,
achievement…. So let´s summarize what we remember the most.
The first day of class with Linda talking with
that challenging looking, telling us that this subject was not going to be
easy, nor a present.
The day we met all the members, because till that
day even though we were at the same classroom we were completely aliens for
each other.
The speed-dating presentation, that was awesome and new
for all of us.
The continuous and internal fights that we had at
the very beginning to reach to an equal consensus.
The great feeling after achieving good
presentations.
The great rewards when other groups recognized our work
and vice versa.
The great feeling that is to see how the rest of
the groups are developing and improving day by day.
The feeling of fellowship and confidence, that after long
effort and disputes we have now.
The security, looking back at our hard days,
working, discussing, having fun, and learning from each other… will pay off.

Our's poker faces. Every time that we had to face our
teacher new declaration of war.
The pleasure that is having an extra point, not for the
point itself, it is because it is hard work recognition.
We could keep on counting more facts to remember,
but we think with this slight idea we are able to summarize, learning-
acquiring. Remembering experiences.
The hardest thing has been
Being objective and fair it is not an easy task, because when people
are transparent and try to perform correctly, others can no see the perspective
from the same angle. As much as we tried to encourage a member to follow the
right path to cooperate with the team, sadly it did not work, resulting in
continuous misunderstandings and conflicts. The harsh situation from the whole
group was to face the truth and notify to one of our members, that she was not
on board anymore. This fact was quite bitter for all of us, from the expelled
person to the ones that decided that it was the best for the group’s wellbeing.
Difficult as it might seem, we did the correct decision, but at the
same time, we all felt down, because we started being aware that we are
becoming adults, and in real life, we won’t have three opportunities, nor even
one, if we do not stick into the plan, project, position…
We felt really bad indeed, but we also think that we were right,
although we would have liked to have another way out to solve that situation.
The easiest thing has been
About the easiest role, in our opinion was the “Translator role”, which
had to find and define the 5 main terms about the activity of the week. And we don’t
mean it was an easy role at all, but if we define what is “easy” taking also
into account the amount of work of each role, Translator’s one was the easiest
one.
About the easiest activity, for us, it was the TPACK activity. Although
at first we had a little of confusion about that term, once we had read all the
sub terms included it was easy to understand the concept and we all realized
that we had some teachers that only had pedagogy and others that only teach
using technology but without pedagogy and so on…
The funny thing was
We think that we had passed too many funny moments this course but some
of the funniest could be for example while inventing the fable “Fall Hive
Honey” were we had to think how to explain the dark side of textbooks in a way
that children could understand with a fable with animals and we really had some
absurd and funny ideas.
Other funny moment could be with the interviews and photos taken by the
journalists each week… sometimes they take pictures of us without notify.
The most boring has been
Everything
is a little bit boring when you must do it. But it starts to be interesting and
useful when you understand it and know how to put it in practise.
So, having
in mind all the activities that we have done during these months and the
experiences that we have lived, we can say that the most boring was when we had
to read and summarize the law in order to do a big schema with its main points.
It is interesting and useful, but it is also boring and not as dynamic as other
works.
Something that will be useful for sure
During
these months we have learnt lot of things that can be very useful in our life.
But, what will be useful for sure is “TPACK” and the activity of “The dark side
of textbooks”. They can help us to teach in the correct way, making dynamic classes
and enjoying our work, because a teacher is a person who wants to help other people
to become adults and if he/she does it with keenness, his job would be la bed
of roses.
What we will no longer use
Answer this
question is so difficult; because Linda has driven the subject in order to everything
would be useful and value. We cannot say anything we will no longer use anymore.
We only hope not to have so much stress!! J
The activity where we have learned the most has been
We think
that the activity we learnt the most was “The dark side of textbooks”. Before we had never considered that test book
could have a dark side, because we have used it all these years. We couldn’t imagine
that so much people could be implicated on it. As it was a topic which makes us feel enthusiastic, we read so many things and searched for much information to deep. How far we are experts on it! :)
I really
liked studying this topic, it made me reconsider many things about the
teaching I have received until now, and my future teaching.
What we should improve in our work for other courses is
What we should improve for other courses as a group is do not give all the responsibility to one person, I mean, there are people that do not care about the work, I mean we wait for someone (facilitator) says us what we have to do instead we help him/her to be easier for everyone, so the facilitator is always behind us and it could be a problem because the facilitator will get angry and very stressed, and to do a good work everyone must help. And another thing that we must improve is that If there is a class mate that needs the information the day that he/she says, the others must have sent their part of their work when that person says. To sum up, we have get used to work in group and help each other.
What we need to kep for other course is
What we have to keep is that when some of the group does not understand something, the others explain him/her what we have to do, and how. If we need any information about something or there is a website, video or whatever that we think that is very useful for our work we tell it to all the group, or if there is something wrong we tell to the other that his/her part is wrong and how he/she could change the work to improve it. And all of us have great ideas, each of us give some ideas and we take them to do a great idea, or take a little of some idea or take one, the most that we like and start working. So, the best of this group is that everyone give ideas and help the others that have problems.
If we pass it is because
If we pass it is because we have acquired the
basic competences related to this subject, in other words because we have learned, but what have we learned? Have we learned
how to make nice slides, have we learned how to build a blog? Have we learned
how to make a fable? No way, indeed what we have acquired is to be critic about
the information we get from the environment (dark side of text books), we learned that been clear and nit when
we present our shelves can give us the success (slides & presentations) or also that depending on the way you
drive your surroundings, it can works well or bad (Director, leadership & centers).
Many things that will make our lives richer than
it was before to start SOyER, and that is the reason what we will pass the
subject.
If we fall it is because
If we fall -we hope no- would be because the
lack of many thing that nowadays we have acquired, the most important is the READING, this is the biggest lack we
can attribute to our shelves, we always started the activities without the
proper deep reading it requires and when we say READ, we are not talking literally, we mean READING everything in all the platforms as we can, READING from the social network, READING from the teachers, READING from our social environment… in
other words, first let’s start READING
from our PLE and then we are ready
to start working in the activity. But now, we’ve got it!!!
